A family-run yard with a passion for horses and the countryside.
Greenbank Livery Yards is part of our working family farm in the beautiful North Lancashire countryside, just five minutes from junction 35 of the M6, between Lancaster and Kendal.
We are a working farm and provide a high standard of grassland management and produce our own high quality horse haylage. We have excellent facilities including all-weather floodlit arenas, a full set of show jumps, covered yards which house large loose boxes, a winter turnout paddock, and plenty of summer grazing.
Our family has lived at Greenbank for over 55 years. Over that time we have farmed beef and sheep, and seen the farm grow from a traditional farm to also accommodate a riding school, livery yard, and dog kennels. We have a strong connection with the English countryside and share a love for animals and nature.
Every decision we make puts the health and happiness of the horses first. Our BHS-qualified Yard Manager ensures the highest standards of care.
We foster a friendly, supportive yard where liveries help each other and enjoy spending time with like-minded horse people.
As a working farm, we manage our land responsibly — producing our own haylage and practising good grassland management year-round.
Sarah is our BHS-approved riding instructor and qualified stable manager. She brings extensive experience and a genuine love for horses to everything she does at Greenbank.
Sarah is happy to teach beginners through to BHS Stage 4 level and can offer support and advice to liveries wanting to improve their riding and their horse's schooling.
Whether you want to compete, improve your flatwork, or simply enjoy hacking through the countryside, Sarah is here to help you get the most from your time with your horse.
🐾 Greenbank is also home to the Greenbank Lancaster Kennels & Cattery — quality boarding for dogs and cats on the same farm.
