Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about livery at Greenbank. Can't find what you need? Get in touch.

What vaccinations does my horse need?

All horses at Greenbank must be up to date with their flu and tetanus vaccinations. Please bring your vaccination record when you move in so we can keep it on file.

What about worming?

We require all liveries to maintain a regular worming programme. We recommend following your vet's advice and can help coordinate yard-wide worming to be most effective.

Can I come and visit the yard before deciding?

Absolutely! We actively encourage prospective liveries to come and see the yard, meet us, and have a look around. Just give us a call or send us a message to arrange a convenient time.

What do I need to bring when I move my horse in?

You'll need your horse's vaccination certificate, tack, grooming kit, rugs, feed (if your horse has specific requirements — our haylage is included), and any supplements or medications. We'll show you where everything goes when you arrive.

What turnout arrangements are there?

In summer, horses have access to our 30+ acres of managed grazing. In winter, we have a dedicated shared winter turnout paddock and an all-weather sand paddock for when conditions are challenging. Paddocks are organised by same-sex groups.

Is haylage included in the livery price?

Yes — haylage produced on our farm is included in the DIY livery price. If your horse requires specific hard feed or supplements, you'll need to provide these yourself.

Can I have riding lessons on my own horse?

Yes! Our BHS-qualified Yard Manager Sarah provides lessons for liveries at a discounted rate — £12 per half hour or £17 per hour. Lessons can cover flatwork, jumping, or general schooling.

What happens if I go on holiday?

We offer flexible holiday cover. Our day charge of £10 covers mucking out, turnout, nets, and feeds. We can also exercise your horse if required. Just let us know in advance and we'll make arrangements. Read our full guide: Going on Holiday? Horse Care Options →

Is there a discount for two horses?

Yes — we offer a discount for liveries with two horses. Contact us for details.

Can friends and family visit?

Visitors are welcome, but we ask that children are supervised at all times and dogs are kept on leads while on the yard.

Still have questions? We're happy to chat about livery availability, arrange a visit, or answer anything else.
